Meet the filmmaker and composer joining us on a new documentary series.

PARTNER NOTE / 03

New collaborators, and what they bring to the work.

Filmmaker Daniel Kwon and composer Pablo Signori are joining Box Crib on a new documentary series for an influential architecture firm with work across the country.

Daniel lets his shots run longer than most, and Pablo writes quiet scores that shift a little at a time. Together, their films feel lived-in.

Who are Signori + Kwon?

Daniel Kwon is a filmmaker, and Pablo Signori is a composer. On this series, Daniel shapes the picture and Pablo shapes the sound.

Daniel’s camera stays with people after the obvious moment has passed. Those extra beats change the story. You see a person think, adjust, and settle, and you start to trust what they say. Pablo builds his scores the same way. He skips the swelling theme and lets the music shift a little at a time, so it sits under the film and leaves the feeling to you.

Why does video matter for AEC firms?

Video captures what photos miss: how people move through a space, how daylight shifts, and how designers explain their intent in their own words.

A photograph shows a finished building. A film shows the process and the people who use it. On video, principals can explain decisions in their own words, the team can be seen working together, and occupants can describe what changed for them.

What makes this pairing a fit for our clients?

Their pace matches the work. Daniel and Pablo give a subject time, which suits a firm whose projects take years and whose process has developed over three decades.

Much of the video made for professional services firms relies on fast cuts, drone sweeps, and stock music. Daniel and Pablo slow down, listen, and let the people on screen carry the story. For a firm that wants to be understood, that restraint helps it stand out.

What are we making together?

We are producing a documentary series for the firm, scheduled for release in 2027.

How can a firm use a film once it’s made?

A well-made film keeps working across the firm’s materials for years. One series can supply:

  • a film for the website and YouTube

  • shorter cuts for LinkedIn and Instagram

  • an opening for an interview presentation

  • recruiting content that shows the culture as it is

  • stills for proposals, the website, and other marketing materials

A strong film gives a firm a way to tell its story at its own pace, for years after the shoot.
